In the area lie the biggest part of the enormous National park “Central Balkan”, and the reserves „Steneto”, „Boatin” ? „Tsarichina” are protected by UNESCO. In them can be seen more than 30 plants and about 120 birds and mammals, which are protected by the law. The region is famous for its caves.
